Elizabeth Cecil - Photographer
What is your most prized possession?
My Christenson twin tracker, it is my magic surfboard right now.
What is the greatest accomplishment of your life?
My daughter, Esme.
What did you learn a little too late?
Learning to invest and save money as a self-employed artist.
Who knows you best?
My best friend, Lindsey.
Does your family practice any unusual traditions?
When I was little, we put our stockings out on Dec. 6th for the German celebration of St. Nicholas feast day so I carry this tradition on with my daughter.
What is the bravest thing you've ever done?
A triathlon.
Best advice you have ever been given?
I asked an artist on Martha's Vineyard, Lucy Mitchell, how she balanced motherhood and making art. She said to make sure to do a little bit of your art everyday so that your child knows it as part of your daily practice. I have done that since day one and my daughter recognizes how important making pictures is to me. She took this photo of me for this project.
What does your average weekend look like?
Friday night we like to make pizza at home. On Saturdays we go to the Farmer's Market or hang out at home and do chores. On Sundays we love to go to the beach with friends. If there are waves and we get to surf, then it is the perfect weekend.
What makes you unique?
The way I see.

Taking our little boat across The Great Pond to the barrier beach and swimming in the ocean on the other side.
